Church History

This year's Sunday School focuses on Church History of the Latter Day Saints. I really miss being in the Sunday School class, but also really love my Youth Sunday School group. I almost kept up last year by using my personal gospel study to read the Book of Mormon, just about a week more or maybe Sunday afternoon. I am trying to decide whether to follow the adult lessons in my personal gospel study this year or try a by topic approach.
Here are two lessons that I have found so far for this week of the Adult Sunday School lessons: LDS Living and LDS Mag.

Any thoughts? What are you doing for personal/family gospel study this year?

Blog Train: Faith Sisters - Eternal Life

Time again for The Faith Sisters' Blog Train. This time we are basing the kits on a scripture 1 John 5: 13.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
To me, the verse talks about the scriptures and their purpose, so I have included a book of scripture, arrows that indicate eternal life and a tree.

Blog Train: Wisdom

Faith Sisters Blog Train this month features a great scripture from James 1: 5 ->
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

This scripture is also next year's youth theme at church.

I love this scripture not only for the historical context, but also for the promise of wisdom.

Review: Big Pillow Thing

My office mates and I thought this would be fun to rest on in the middle of our office.  The first thing I notice about it is the truly vibrant color.  It comes with a small bag you can carry like a backpack along with instructions and a tent stake.  The whole thing ended up being much bigger than I expected but that is a bonus since I am a larger woman though it worked well for my skinnier co-workers as well.  It was very comfy.  The lounger itself appears well made and solid and not easily ripped but I wouldn't put it on sharp objects for sure.  I do like that it has pockets on the side for me to put my items in.  I must admit it took me a bit to get the hang of everything and make it work right.  I did struggle with figuring out how to get the right amount of air in it.  I think it may work easier outdoors as I tried it inside.  So that will be my next test.  We did use a fan to help blow it up.  Note that opening both tubes and trying to air them up at the same time makes it more difficult than needed, as I quickly found out, lol.  Someone mentioned that there are Youtube videos on how to more easily inflate this so will watch some before I try it out side.  Over all, it has been a fun product and I look forward to using it more.
I received this product for a discount  in exchange for my review.  I was not paid to give a positive review for this product.

Review: Messenger Bag

Once in awhile style and function meet. I got this to use for work to carry my notebook and files as I go home to home during the day. I needed something durable and solid so it will hold up to the abuse it endures in other people's houses. I wear jeans on my behind for the same reason - strong and durable and not easy for things to leak through. The canvas material appears like it will hold up and not allow liquids in even if I sit it in something. But it looks cool too and my co-workers liked it and asked me where I got it. One talked about getting it for her daughter who is a high schooler. The metal buckle and genuine leather adds the right jean touch. There seems to be plenty of room for my work supplies and it snaps shut magnetically. It has an outside pocket I can slide my current file in for easy access. Inside are several pockets, one of which is zippered. It has a strong bottom that makes it easy to sit it down without it falling over when its full. I was able to wipe down any dirt or marks from sitting it on the floor. Overall glad to have on my visits. I received this product for free in exchange for my review. I was not paid to give a positive review for this product.

Review: Hammock

I was so excited when this was offered and happy when I was chosen to review the hammock.
We have had a blast with this Hammock. The hammock is very long and the enclosed tree straps were long enough to put between two trees that I originally thought to far apart. Attaching the straps was as easy as wrapping one around the tree then through a loop. The carabiners slipped easy into the sectioned off straps. We had to adjust the placement a few time - the process was very quick. The hammock and straps were strong enough to hold my large frame (see attached photos). I loved the bright color. I received this hammock at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and fair review but I would have bought it for full price.

Review: Organizer

I got the stroller organizer to see if it would work with my mother's walker and the universal part comes through with shining colors. There were tons of easily accessible places to store items. She was able to fit a drinking cup, tissues, hand cream and more. When she goes on a trip next month she will add her wallet.cell phone, pens, a notepad and more. The bag hangs freely without getting in the way. The bag is created out of strong material and is well constructed. She is very pleased. I bought this item at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Review: Cooling Gel

At first I was skeptical because I had only used heat patches before, but these Cooling Gel Patches worked wonderfully. First I used it for tight muscles on my back near the neck after a stressful day. The area near the patch was less painful in about 10 minutes. Another day, I came home with a migraine and went immediately to these patches and place one on my forehead then laid down under a blanket. After my nap, I was much better. Despite the odd smell, these worked. The patches are easy to apply and stay on for a long time. I received this item at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Review: Loofah

This loofah was great! I have had loofahs that were too harsh or too soft - this one was perfect. The length of the handles was spot-on as well. I easily reached all parts of my back and legs and was able to scrub my feet when seated. I loved the ability to put soap (soft or bar) into the pocket. The two sides of the long one and the hand one was one of the best features as it allowed for two different bathing experiences. I often have itchy places that are difficult to reach. This product scrubbed that dry skin off.

Review: Nature Now Premium Diuretic

I changed from my probiotic to Nature Now Premium Diuretic to test the product to see if it would work for my bloating and gas. This pill worked just as well. I was happy that it did not contain soy as that is one of my triggers for bloating/gas. All the ingredients are healthy and the pills are not too large and did not leave an aftertaste that is common with natural supplement. I noticed a slight increase in energy over the two weeks that I tested it. Note: I received this at a discount for my honest review.

Review: Invigorate Vitamin C Age Defying Serum

As an older female, I often have small pimples and rough skin on my face. I have been able to use this product for two weeks and at the beginning decided to use it on one side only. The side I used this serum on is smoother and has had no new pimples. The other side did have a few and I decided to go ahead and use the product on both sides. I also have a small skin tag near one eye. The size has reduced and I will continue to use this product on the skin tag, I think it will eventually go away. I also had serious doubts on if the product would come out of the bottle. It has some special thing in the lid that always has an appropriate amount of the product to use. Very cool! This review is based upon my own personal experience with the product and I received it at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Overall this product is as promised.

Review: 3D Pen

I had fun playing with the AFUNTA 3D Printing Pen and I progressed quickly. Several videos are available for beginners, but I stumbled through on my own. The attached photo shows my rapid growth from what I thought was to become a butterfly to something that actually looks like a butterfly, then a pedaless bike. The kit came with enough strands of plastic to create quite a few projects, but only in 3 colors. There are loads of colors available. I quickly learned to control the variable speed and the extrude and extract buttons. Threading the machine was super simple and fairly quick. The attached cord is a bit short, but an extension cord was quickly found. The projects dry/cool quickly. The entire experience was a blast and I look forward to creating more when I buy more colors of the strands.

Sugar Blocker

I have taken the Alpha-Lipoic for 2 weeks now without any other change in my daily tablets I take. My energy level has increased a little bit and I have been less sleepy and lethargic. I have been able to increase my activity level. Although trips to the bathroom have been more frequent and bowel movement more soft, I may have lost a few pounds. I am pre-diabetic and believe that this supplement would help to delay the onset of diabetes. I plan to continue to take them, at least the bottle while it lasts.
I received this item for free/discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Another Review: FM Transmitter

Much better than the previous one I owned, this FM Transmitter allows you to choose any FM band 87.5-107.9 MHz.The DLAND FM transmitter also allows input from either a Micro-SD card or from a audio jack - both methods work great (need to turn your radio volume up a bit). Audio guidance is given as the machine selects the input method. And to put the cherry on top - charge your phone at the same time. Written instructions were clear on each part of the device I tested.
I received this at a discounted rate in exchange for an review.

Product Review: Stereo Gaming Headphone

I have started to review products for a service.
My first product was these Stereo Gaming Headphone -  by AFUNTA sold at Amazon. Although I am not an avid gamer, these were very good headphones.
These headphones have excellent, clear sound from both my computer and phone. I found it cool that I could quickly switch between the phone and computer. The padding around the ears and across the head is very comfortable. The head band adjusted easily and stays in place. I especially liked the clip-on, in-cord volume control and on/off switch -- It was easy to use. The cord is sufficiently long. These block outside noise extremely well. Overall excellent headphones.
I received this product at a discount for my honest unbiased review.
