Come Follow Me - Week 1

Long time no post. I have switched a few priorities, one is gospel study. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is starting a coordinated Gospel Study Program in January. The first lesson focuses on the importance of developing your own testimony and studying scriptures, not just reading them. I have developed a handout/thought page for various ages. Please comment if you use it.

Sunday School Challenge

I have set a goal to be more proactive in setting and following up on weekly challenges. This week's lesson was
a great lesson based on Psalm 145:9 and the last part of 1 Nephi 1:20 that talk about the Lord's tender mercies. Sometimes it is difficult for any of us to recognize a divine hand in our lives, maybe harder for my pre-teens. So the challenge is to find something every day that reminds them of their Heavenly Father's love and to tell someone about it. I have to do the challenge too.

Church History

This year's Sunday School focuses on Church History of the Latter Day Saints. I really miss being in the Sunday School class, but also really love my Youth Sunday School group. I almost kept up last year by using my personal gospel study to read the Book of Mormon, just about a week more or maybe Sunday afternoon. I am trying to decide whether to follow the adult lessons in my personal gospel study this year or try a by topic approach.
Here are two lessons that I have found so far for this week of the Adult Sunday School lessons: LDS Living and LDS Mag.

Any thoughts? What are you doing for personal/family gospel study this year?

Digital Scrapbook Day

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day! Designed to bring awareness of this fast growing hobby, the day also brings sales!! Check out the sales at both my stores!

I had hoped to have more of my kits available, but I am taking some time to check and update the kits before I upload them. I have a long list that I think are nearly ready. Do you have a favorite kit of mine that you have seen in the past? I will move suggested kits to the top of the list.

The weekend is also General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Members from all over the world will be listening to words from our leaders. Multiple ways of watching are available and watch for the memes on Facebook.

Back to School

Facebook has been hopping with back to school photos from the moms and back to school advice for the teachers. I have dug up a blast from the past - some lunch notes that you can print, add a note and slip in your child's lunch or back pack.
These are from a kit called Returning to Learning which I still do not have in the store ... I am going to have to create multiple parts.

Grab my part here. Since it is a direct link, I do not have a count of the number of times it is downloaded. Please leave a comment if you like this.

We all want to have our kids do well in school. I found a family home evening lesson on Be a Diligent Learner.

Religious Freedom LDS Blog Train

One of the basic tenets of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is religious tolerance as stated in the 11th Article of Faith written almost 200 years ago: We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

So being an American and being a Mormon, makes me doubly grateful for the religious freedom I enjoy.

I put together this little kit on the spur of the moments and it contains some files from a color challenge last year as well as some new things. I would love to see what you do with this and the other kits from the train.  Pick up my part ad-free here (because it is a direct link - I don't get to see how many are downloaded and would love to hear your comments).

LDS Blog Train

Twice a year, the entire Mormon church watches the leadership give inspired messages. This April's Conference was full of talks that will keep me spiritual for the next six months. The messages are available here.

The LDS blog train has chosen general conference for a theme. I have been in a bit of a funk so I have packed what I had done at the beginning of the months to present to you all.

Download here

The entire list will be a the home page for the LDS blog train.

Choo Choo - Love Train

Time for the LDS Blog Train again!! This month's theme is a song title "Love is Spoken Here" - it mixes well with Valentine's day. I worked with the teal and pink (yea - me with pink - I punched through it). I played a bit with filters and created a lovely flower like page quite by surprise ... sharing it with you today.

Be Prepared

Time for the LDS blog train again and I have been sick. Sorry this is so small, I had such plans.
Being prepared for anything is part of the latter-day saint life. From food storage to education, the religious tenets reach into our practical life.

LDS Blog Train: Worlds Without End

Hello Visitors!! Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe that Worlds Without End were created. I have chosen in my mini-kit to focus a bit on the one we have. I love the children's song - I Think The World is Glorious which inspired my word art. (You can download the song -sheet music and MP3 as well as multiple languages at the link above.)

Pick up this mini-kit at sendspace. Like any free site, be wary of the ads. Look for the link that says: "Click here to start download from sendspace. Sometimes it takes some people to another page that offers a quicker download - uncheck the box under that download button and it will take you to the slow (but no additional software) download page.

Hop back to the LDS blog train site for a complete list. Some have done Family Home Evening printables.

LDS Blog Train again - Live True

It has been forever since I blogged - I have had a long term sub opportunity and have been fighting off the germs that have been passing around at school.

I do love this theme - Live True!

Download my part at SendSpace.
Like all the other free sites, it has a dozen ads. In the middle is a blue box that says "Click here to download from sendspace" - that is the correct link. When I start earning any money for my designs, I will consider paying for a host, until then free for you means free for me.

LDS Blog Train: A Place in HIstory

I am so excited about this round's LDS Blog Train. The group is providing scraping materials for those trips to church history sites. Most will also work for any history trips. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a rich history, some of which happened very near to where I live in Missouri.
Complete list of LDS historical sites
A tour company's list for the midwest
Deseret News article - what happened where
Wikipedia list with links to articles
Map with what happened where from the church

Anyway ... I wish I would have taken the time to do more. I included a treated photo from our place and some gingham and dots that were popular dress fabrics in the day.
- here is my part - look for the blue box "Click here to start download from sendspace" - then go on over to the main LDS blog train page to find the complete list.
