Book of Mormon Journaling idea

Half a year after my last post - another idea.

I am working to create a Book of Mormon Page-by-Page Study Journal. Each page in the  Study Journal would correspond to a page in the Book of Mormon. I have completed the first draft of the book and am looking for some feedback before I get too far into the book. 

Questions include: 

• size - letter or half letter (similar size to a paperback Book of Mormon
• paging - left or right or left/right alternating (like a book)
• lines - dark lines, wider lines, light lines, no lines

New Venture

Like most with ADHD, I skip around a lot and have tried several ventures. I need to make one stick. With my classroom background, I will be loading a store at Teachers Pay Teachers. 

Currently, I only have a free item. I have one more underway.

Conference Printable

 Conference season is upon us. We had ward conference this past Sunday, stake conference next Sunday and then the first weekend in April, General Conference. I'll admit to falling asleep during the meetings a few days ago. I should have been taking notes. So I finished up a set of conference printables that can be used for any conference.

The packet has 4 different pages: Pre/Post Conference thoughts, a speaker page, additional notes and a dot drawing page. It is a PDF file so you can print as many of any page as you wish.

Not my first book. I put together a small HTML how-to for teachers ages ago. Every school district in Texas at the time got a copy. 

New Calendar Stuff

 

So last week I watched a video on bullet journaling. This video introduced a discbound method. My biggest objection to traditional (term used lightly) was the messiness of the order - just tack the next page at the end, number it and put it in the index. ICK! With discbound, you can order/group your pages any way you want. I was so excited, I scoured Amazon and found 2 "expansion" packages and ordered them. I figured that with what I already had (see previous entry), just a few more things would help. Unfortunately I ordered 2 kits created by the same company and got lots of duplicates ... oh well, they will get used.  

Calendar Overload (part 2)

 

Over the past year or more, I have bought and created a boxful (yes, a 12 quart tote) packed with calendar supplies. I bought a few more this week after I decided to go with the discbound system. (More later)

My love of calendars is REAL. Now the opportunity to combine calendars with planners, to-do lists (and so many other lists), and so much more with my creative side is exciting.

Calendar overload

I have always loved a calendar. The first memory of my fascination with calendars I have is of a block calendar of my dad's. As I have been cleaning and going through his stuff, I have found myself staring at this calendar and remembering how I loved changing the months and the repeating pattern that allowed the blocks to be tall stacks of numbers. 

As an adult when school starts each year, I could feel my heart beat just a bit faster as I selected my planner for the year. During the pandemic and when I decided to stay home, one of the disappointments was a paper planner was kinda useless with my boring day-to-day. 

Then I discovered bullet journaling: how it could track goals, keep lists and so much more. 

I am fascinated again.

Exploring options

 A very long time with no post. I have been at home now almost every day through the pandemic which made the transition to stay-at-home care giver for my mother an easier transition as subbing jobs were few. As I look to the future, I realize that I do not want to go back to public school teaching. The past few weeks I have been looking into ways to create a passive income, some create once and sell forever digital products. The digital scrapbooking world was not kind, making I think one sale in two or so year. Loved the sociality of it, but not at all profitable.

So I am examining what I am good at that could make a profit in a e-book or a downloadable product.

What can I do that will stand out? Then to narrow it to a niche. 

Come Follow Me - Week 1

Long time no post. I have switched a few priorities, one is gospel study. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is starting a coordinated Gospel Study Program in January. The first lesson focuses on the importance of developing your own testimony and studying scriptures, not just reading them. I have developed a handout/thought page for various ages. Please comment if you use it.

Here is the topper for May. The download version is a png file with a hole. I try to make the calendar part generic and the topper month specific. This could be for Mother's Day or just May flowers.
The kit I used for this month's set, MoM, had too many colors and so the parts I made from it are different. Before I expand the kit, I will pare down the colors.

Another Month

May is quickly approaching. I have spent a great deal of time considering my role as a scrapbook designer and my roll in the schools. I am also planning one or two large scrapping project.
As for now here is the calendar part of May. This month is the only month this year that starts on Tuesday. You may need to wait until next year to get other calendars that start on Tuesday. I am considering next year, making a complete set with a single large kit.  This month's set was completed with an unpublished kit called "MoM". Tell me what you think. In the meantime, download the calendar.

April's Verse

This scripture on prayer is one of my favorites. Usually people just quote the "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings", but I decided to include 2 verses because the list of when and over what to pray is fantastic.
Do you counsel with the Lord or just talk to Him? Take the opportunity to make it a two way conversation, tell Him your thoughts.

April Header

Here is part 2 of April calendar - the header (or what do you call it?). You, of course, will download a PNG file with a hole for your own photo. Both my and my dad's birthday are in April.
The kit I used is Keep Calm which I am updating and hope to be in the stores soon. After creating these calendars, I see that I need to create a multi-hole frame.

April Calendar

Another month gone by. I am finally on Spring Break, the earlier snows and flooding took some of ours away. This weekend I am looking forward to Easter and the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day  Saints. With my brothers not near, April Fools is not a big day.
I have another calendar for you. This one is for April. The 31 day one that starts on the first of the week will be out in July. I used my calm kit, which I am trying to get into the stores this weekend.

March Scripture

I have also been creating a quote or scripture page to go with the calendar. Here is one for March. Are you interested in the others for Jan and Feb?

Date Part of March

I am ahead of the game this month, the ice outside has helped.
I am offering the generic 31 day calendar that starts on US Thursday (download here). I offered the 28 day last month and the 30 day Thursday will be available in November.
I used an old collab - should I make this one into a full kit?

Ice Storm and March

A long weekend (mostly spent waiting) and an incoming ice storm has left me with a bit of time. So surprise: I have March's calendar set complete. Here is the quickpage for the month name. I used an old collab for these pages. Should I upgrade this set?

Date part of February

I have ready the date part of the February calendar. I felt OK going with something more thematic like the hearts this time as it will only be 28 days on a February calendar. If I continue, you will get the 31 day calendar that starts on Thursday next month in March and the 30 day one in November.
I used the same collaborative kit that I used to create the month quick page. Should I continue and make this one a full sized kit?
